River Colne

No job too small! Not all jobs require a modular pontoon installation with support boats and specialist plant equipment.

We were asked to provide water safety support to a survey team on the River Colne who were inspecting a rail bridge. With the water not being particularly deep but free flowing it was decided to send a two-man team along to give support using specialist rescue equipment and deploying safety techniques to minimise risk.

The surveyors would be dressed in waders with life jackets whilst our rescue support team were in full dry suits and personal flotation devices, equipped with throw lines and wading poles. They also had a small inflatable raft carrying a basket stretcher and first aid kit prepared and on the water. Many of our team are volunteers with the RNLI and HMCG and as such can call upon this experience along with being trained in specialist rescue techniques.
